We had a wonderful tour of the abbey - with Alan deciding to join - and photograph the church service underway! Conor and Ben admired the huge wheel which they used to bring in goods. Then Conor and Ben tucked into the fabled omelettes of the restaurants.
We had planned to visit Monet's garden at Giverny but did not have time before we approached Paris. So, throwing caution to the wind, we landed back at Charles de Gaulle around 8 pm and then got on the RER into the city. And upon which time, we discovered that about every other person on the planet had decided to visit Paris and that there were no hotel rooms close to my apartment. So, we got back tot the Gare de Nord and found an hotel room for the night.
The next morning we moved into my apartment. Turned out that the downstairs room was fine for Conor and Ben - while Alan and I stayed upstairs. The apartment is just as advertised - very cool and "arty" and also, of course, very purple!
